Hi ,
Last year, while discussing diversification, we raised a few eyebrows, and some took our content out of context.
Bearing that in mind, here’s what we really said…
There are different classes of assets; some are low-risk and generate low returns.
The others are high-risk and generate huge amounts of returns.
Investors, on the other hand, have different risk tolerance:
Conservative investors are known to have low-risk tolerance while…
Aggressive investors have a high-risk tolerance.
From late 2019 to 2022, there was a trend of low-risk tolerance investors opting in for high-risk asset classes that they do not understand because they’re afraid of missing out.
Following the general rule of thumb, we stated that investors should divert part of their funds into safer asset classes to avoid losing out entirely when a high-risk asset in their portfolio dips.
We only used crypto as a reference point because of its popularity within the Nigerian ecosystem.
I hope this clears this up. Alright. Until next time!
